Above-the-Knee Amputee – Unilateral: Descending a Ramp

Instructions:
  1. Approach ramp standing very straight, looking straight ahead.
  2. Lead with hip, to avoid excessive hip flexion.
  3. When applying weight to prosthesis on ramp, tighten buttocks to extend hips and to securely lock prosthetic knee.
